3 Bless a Lot - Our Attitude Towards our Children
Maybe we look at our children small and big and we see a lot of things that are wrong, immature, messy and even scary. (Funny we look at the outward man and see such things and maybe God looks at our inward man and see exactly the same type of things) Unless we get God's perspective we will become fatalistic, judgmental, critical and frustrated. And worse when we look at a child from our human personal and relational perspective - we might become overwhelmed and feel that this child is a burden to me, drives me crazy and knows how destroy my peace of mind. Feeling this way is not a very healthy place from which to relate to children or other people. What should change that will make it better for me and make the whole atmosphere healthy and inspirational for a child. I think that a child feels insecurities in you, and if think that there is no hope in a situation then your child will know you have nothing to give him - you do not have the support, encouragement, wisdom and love that he needs.
Change this situation by putting your faith equipment to great use. First of all believe in God that this situation and all the people involved has a purpose and a potential of greatness that only God can work out.
That all things will work together for good for those that love God. Believe that God is the key to success in this situation. Secondly believe that God knows you and all that you need and has already prepared and equipped you for this mission. Thirdly: now you need to get excited - believe and know just as for you God has a wonderful life, a wonderful place of maturity, a wonderful purpose for every child that is born into this world. God does not have problem children that will stay problem children - but instead that with all the little pieces of armour that you will dress your child with, things will come together in such a way that you will sit awestruck by the wondrous glorious ability of God to fit everything into the right place.
Believe that even though you do not have the puzzle pieces together at this time, God will walk it out with you, God will supply in all your needs, God will even teach you some great life lessons that will benefit you. Believe that God can give you a love in your heart for your child that will cover you over will cotton wool when you are in a time of turmoil. This is the love that believes all things, hopes all things ...
