1 Close Friendship with God - Glory Realm
My definition of a friend is “a person that gives you his time and shares heart things with you – and who does not shut down communication - in good times or bad times – he will build you up, do you good and enjoy you. Who will unpack his true character and nature for you to delight in and to know”
Is it possible to have such a relationship with God?
I believe that we can know God, that He wants us to know Him, that Jesus came as the expression of Father Himself so that we could know Him
Just as God came and made Himself available in a tangible way for Adam and Eve to know him (Gen 3:8) in the same way I believe God is still looking and calling us not to hide from Him but to come to Him as a friend would. Jesus called his 12 disciples to him and they did not know how to walk with God but Jesus showed them and led them. God says "come to Me".
Jesus says in Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
I also believe that when we let God in we let all of heaven in. When Jesus come in to sup we might feel we are the host but He would come in in the same way that a King would come. He will come in with his whole entourage and bring gifts and persons and even a demonstration of His Greatness and His Kingdom.
The way we would make dvd's with slide presentations and photos to show what our country looks like, He would give us pictures to explain His Kingdom and the place called Heaven where He reigns and abodes in a different dimension.
Some people get offended when they hear of the strange things people see in visions. Why should we be offended? Of course it is different from what we are experiencing on earth! Why should we correct them and seek a theological explanation why this is not from the Lord.
God's heaven should be more glorious, more holy and more delightful than anything that we know. People are offended by angels seen in a vision or manifested in our reality, yet they crave to encounter God or angels. Why are they offended? Does it make us uncomfortable to know that we belong to another place that does not look or work like this world? We are citizens of a heavenly Jerusalem. We should find out what it looks like there!
The Lord promised to tell us about things that we do not know. The Lord said to Niconemus in John 3 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Yip. It would be a problem. It also explains that things are difficult to understand even for those people who are well versed in the scripture. I would rather learn some new thing than to rebut the Lord the way Peter did.
Not everything strange is of the Lord and neither is everything that we can explain of the Lord. Not every teaching about God's Realm is authentic and given with pure motives. But surely those who know their Lord and are learning to hear His voice, wanting to hear and see more of what He longs to show us, will also know how to walk with the Spirit and recognize the signatures of God.
Let God be your Friend and trust Your Friend and learn to fellowship with Him and see His generosity and Love for what it is. He is wonderful and He will not hide things from His friends, those friends that learned to really trust Him. Learn that friendship with the Lord will sometimes mean that He will show you things that are strange to you.
May we enter the Realm of Glory through the Friendship with God and not by secondhand interpretations of man.
As we trust the Lord to take us one day to be with Him we can also trust Him now when He desires to show us how He works. Why should Hollywood explain the unseen world or fictional things to us and we let them but we refuse the eternal God to share realities of Himself with us?
