The WORD -
The WORD of God is Wonderful, a delight to the soul and food to the heart. It give you understanding and makes you wise. It teaches the fear of the Lord by which we are kept safe.
Psa 19:7-11 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
1 The WORD as the Person of Jesus
Jesus is the Word and this is the Word that became flesh so that we could see it. It reveals the Will of the Father and the Promises. It tell us about the Salvation Plan and the future that is still waiting for us
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
2 The WORD is Truth, Good and Steadfast
We learn truth from the Word and that God is Truth. The Word is steadfast and we can rest on it to support our way and choices. We will never go wrong when we understand the Word. We need to discover and eat the WORD for ourselve and we will see its power
Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
Heb 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
3 The WORD is Bread, Light and Life
We will be very misrable if we had to live without the WORD of God for it is our nourismnet. The Word give us light and we can understand in detail the heart of the matter
Deu 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Psa 119:105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
4 The Power of the WORD
The Power of the WORD is awesome - God created by the spoken WORD and keeps everything in existance by His Word. It is not just letters and sound but have actual power that goes far deeper into our hearts and soul than psyciatry can ever even fathom. It has the power to grow is us, like the seed and the sower that planted the Word and there came a great harvest. But also if the Word is neglected it gets stolen and choked in us
It is eternal and it the weapon of the Holy Spirit and where it is send it works - It is through the Word that Faith comes into us and also through the Word we will become successful in every area of Life.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Heb 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Act 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.
The word is a Weapon: Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
The Word Eternal: 1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1Pe 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1Pe 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you
The Word as our Success" Psa 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psa 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The Word as Carrier of Faith: Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
5 The WORD - the Gospel of the Kingdom
The Word of the Gospel is the power of God for our Salvation. It comes with power and conviction. IT is full of Grace and Life
Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Mat 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
Word is full of Grace: Act 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Word of life: 1Jn 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Php 2:16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain
6 Washed and Sanctified by the WORD
The Word has the ability to change us and when we keep eating the Word we are formed into another person
Joh 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
7 Filled with the WORD
We need to keep the Word of the Lord in us, so that we are full of the Word and it multiplies. When we do not keep it the enemy comes and steal it and it is no longer effective in our lives
Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
We need to be faithful ministers of the Word for how will people hear the Word unless they are send by God. When we study the Word we become well equiped to share the word.
Filled with the Word: Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
The Word as Seed:Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
