5 The Battle is the Lord's - Spiritual Warfare
Many people when they find out that we are involved in a battle that has continued throughout the ages panic and question how it is possible that we as people can be involved in this battle while we have no training or great power or insight in this spiritual realm
First of all the fact that the battle is going on right now and right over your head is true. And secondly this battle has been going on with or without you and even about you for a long time. Thirdly, as a child of God you are on the winning side, for the battle is the Lord's.
This battle is on God's terms and for His purposes. This battle is not an equal battle but this battle has to do with justice and righteousness and judgment. The first clash in this battle was when the enemy, the devil, satan decided that he can be and will be equal with God. His problem is that he cannot and therefore he is trying to attain this position by subversion. If he cannot change God and God's rule, he thought that he would try and subvert everything else that belongs to God and that God has created and thereby taking legal ownership over everything. He wants all creation to rebel against God and bow to him and then he thinks that he can challenge God for the kingdom.
Everything in God's Kingdom system is build on truth and righteousness and cannot be moved or removed or shifted. For this reason when we start to move and shift the boundaries of God in our own lives we come against God's Kingdom system. God will not make an exception by moving Himself for anyone not for the devil and not for man.
But the battle is also about man, God's love for man. And God has built grace and mercy into His Kingdom reign and His grace and mercy and love runs swiftly in the lives of all people but the enemy tries to pervert to deceive, to kill, to stop their progress to come to God to receive Him as personal Saviour and God over there lives. This position God has prepared for all people that He has created.
The perversity of sin and humanism is that man believes the lie and wants to do his own things and tries to make his own decisions. Being blinded by the bad and evil advertising that the devil has put out. And giving freedom to this selfish nature man is drawn deeper and deeper into the hell satan wants man to experience here on earth and in the future. (his kingdom of darkness is a perverted kingdom)
The Good News is that God does not give up on any man, He cannot turn away from us, no matter how guilty or ugly or perverted man becomes, man's reunion with God is still the Gospel Story from the beginning.
